Removal And Installation: Removal

- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the front catalytic converter. Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Unbolt the Y-pipe, allowing it to hang down. Refer to PIPE, EXHAUST CROSSUNDER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Disconnect the battery positive and the solenoid connection (1) from the starter.
- Remove the clips (2) and move the wiring harness aside.
- Remove the fasteners (2) securing the starter to the transmission bell housing and remove the starter (1).
