Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure

Tools Required: 

J 34730-1A  Fuel Pressure Gauge

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
2. Install the J 34730-1A  . Refer to Fuel Pressure Gage Installation and Removal .

3. Loosen the fuel fill cap in order to relieve the fuel tank vapor pressure.
4. Open the valve on J 34730-1A  in order to bleed the system pressure. The fuel connections are now safe for servicing.
5. Drain any fuel remaining in the gauge into an approved container.
6. Once the system pressure is completely relieved, remove the J 34730-1A  .
