Code 31 - Open 36 VLR Deployment Loop: Description

Voltage at SENSE LOW input (terminal No. A6) is between 13.2-24.2 volts when 36 Volt Loop Reserve (VLR) output of DERM is functional. Should circuit open between 36 VLR output and arming sensor, IGNITION 1 voltage will supply deployment loop. Voltage at SENSE LOW input (terminal No. A6) will decrease due to decrease in supply voltage and Code 31 will set after 700 milliseconds (if Code 42 is not set). Code 31 indicates an open in wiring between 36 VLR output of DERM and arming sensor, an open diode in arming sensor or a problem with SENSE HIGH or SENSE LOW circuits.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart. For circuit number identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .

Checks if the fault is in 36 VLR circuit between DERM and arming sensor or if fault is in arming sensor.
