Description & Operation

CAUTION: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.

The outside rear view mirror is powered from the stop/hazard fuse in the fuse block. The harness is routed to the outside rear view mirror control switch assembly. The control switch is mounted on the left side of the engine cover. The switch directs power to the right and left mirror for horizontal and vertical movement.

Each outside mirror has 2 reversible motors: one to adjust the mirror view UP and DOWN, the other to adjust mirror view LEFT or RIGHT. The driver operates 4 switches that control the voltage polarity to the motors. The mirror select switch directs these control voltages to either the left or right outside mirrors.
