Pinpoint Test AO: P1595

  1. NOTE: The Inverter System Controller (ISC) is referred to as the SOBDMC (Secondary On-Board Diagnostic Control Module C) in the scan tool.

    Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    REFER to: Electric Powertrain Control - System Operation and Component Description .

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    SOBDMC P1595:00 Forced Engine Shutdown - Remote Start System Fault, Transmission Range Not In Park Position: No Sub Type Information Sets when the SOBDMC detects the remote start is active with the transmission not in PARK.

    Possible Causes 

    • Transmission range sensor concern
    • Network communication concern
    • BCM concern

  2. AO1 CHECK FOR INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the Inverter System Controller (ISC) self-test.

    Are any Inverter System Controller (ISC) transmission range sensor DTC s other than P1595:00 present? 

    Yes  DIAGNOSE all other Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTC s first. REFER to the DTC chart in This Service Information.
    No  GO to  AO2

  3. AO2 CHECK FOR BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

    Are any BCMDTC s present? 

    Yes  DIAGNOSE any BCMDTC s. REFER to: BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) .
    No  GO to  AO3

  4. AO3 CHECK FOR GSM (GEAR SHIFT MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the GSM self-test.

    Are any GSMDTC s present? 

    Yes  DIAGNOSE any GSMDTC s. REFER to: External Controls in the appropriate Automatic Transmission External Controls article .
    No  GO to  AO4

  5. AO4 REMOTE START THE VEHICLE

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear all DTC s from all modules.

    • Perform a remote start.

    • Attempt to shift out of park while remote start is active.

    Does the vehicle shift out of park while the remote start is active? 

    Yes  DIAGNOSE any shift interlock failure. REFER to: External Controls in the appropriate Automatic Transmission External Controls article.
    No  The system is working correctly at this time.
