Retrieving & Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

NOTE: It is also possible to retrieve instrument cluster DTCs using instrument cluster. See ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - MUSTANG article.

Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Following scan tool manufacturer's instructions to retrieve and clear codes for desired module. See appropriate DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX table under DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS  for a listing of DTCs and location of appropriate test procedure.
