Engine Cooling System: Engine: Thermostat: Removal: 2.8L

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove the engine cover.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.
4. Remove the lower front engine splash shield (1).
5. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

6. Disconnect the upper radiator hose, water bypass tube, water inlet hose and heater hose at the thermostat housing (1) located under the EGR cooler.
7. Remove the thermostat housing retaining bolts (2) and the thermostat housing (1) from the cylinder head, discard the gasket.
