Starter Motor: Removal: 3.5L

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove and relocate the upper radiator crossmember (Refer to BODY/EXTERIOR/RADIATOR CROSSMEMBER - REMOVAL) . See Fig 1 and Fig 2.

Remove the radiator fan module. See Fig 3. (Refer to COOLING/ENGINE/RADIATOR FAN - REMOVAL) .

Remove the wiring harness clip from front mount.
Remove the coolant line clamp bolt. See Fig 4.

Remove the upper nut from the front mount. See Fig 5.

Remove the upper starter mounting bolt. See Fig 6.

Remove the middle starter bolt. See Fig 7.

Raise vehicle and support.
Remove the lower front mount nut. See Fig 8.

Raise and support engine. See Fig 9.

Remove the lower bracket bolt to transmission. See Fig 10.

Remove the lower bracket bolt to engine block. See Fig 11.

Relocate the front mount and bracket.
Disconnect the positive battery cable from starter
Disconnect the solenoid connector from starter.
Remove the lower starter bolt. See Fig 12.

Remove starter from vehicle.
