Trouble Shooting: Surge

Check for intermittent open or short to ground in the following circuits: transmission converter clutch (420 and 422), HEI by-pass (424), EST (423). Refer to "GENERAL MOTORS COMPUTER COMMAND CONTROL SYSTEM" in Computerized Engine Controls Section for testing procedures.
