Installation Procedure

  1. Install the knee bolster bracket into position as marked prior to removal.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the retaining bolts which secure the knee bolster bracket to the SIR bracket.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  5. Install the SIR module (1) to the SIR bracket (2) as marked prior to removal.
  6. Install the SIR module retaining nuts (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  8. Install the SIR bracket into position as marked prior to removal.
  9. Install the bolts (1, 2) which secure the SIR bracket to the I/P upper and lower support beams.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  10. Position the knee bolster bracket to the center support bracket as marked prior to removal.
  11. Install the bolts (3) which secure the knee bolster bracket to the center support bracket.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  12. Connect the SIR module electrical connector.
  13. Secure the electrical connector retainer to the SIR bracket.
  14. Install the CPA to the SIR module electrical connector.
  15. Secure the I/P harness retainer to the SIR bracket.
  16. Install the outlet duct to the right side window defogger.
  17. Install the I/P carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement .
  18. Install the console. Refer to Console Replacement .
  19. Enable the SIR system. Refer to the following procedures in SIR:
